And in my world, it is another day to process some more information for the upcoming season. I was considering waiting until the training camps start to release this list, but I can’t do it. I am too impatient, and we are only one month away from start of the season. Amidst the excitement, I came through with my list of awards, that is, regular season awards for next season. Offensive Player of the Year- Aaron Rodgers Defensive Player of the Year- Patrick Willis Offensive Rookie of the Year- Robert Griffin III Defensive Rookie of the Year- Shea McClellin Comeback Player of the Year- Peyton Manning I think this season is going to be a offensive explosion, thus the quarterbacks taking the majority of the awards, similar to most seasons. Brady and the New England Patriots are going to have a season to remember. I am not saying it is going to be the 2007 season where he broke the touchdown record, but it is going to be close. With the addition of Brandon Lloyd, and the development of Gronkowski and Hernandez the season could be historic. I think Rodgers is the best quarterback in the NFL, and with the offensive weapons that the Green Bay Packers have is the reason why Rodgers will have another amazing season, and will battle for the MVP, but have to settle with the Offensive Player of the Year. Defensive Player of the Year being Patrick Willis should not be a stretch. He is the best defensive player in the league, and San Francisco will have the best defense in the league. I like Andrew Luck as a better NFL prospect, but Luck lacks talent on his team. Robert Griffin III has weapons on the team, plus an amazing defense. RG3 could have one of the better rookie campaigns in NFL history. I doubt he will come close to what we witnessed with Cam Newton last season, but it will still be a fun season. Thus Offensive Rookie of the Year. Shea McClellin gets my vote for Defensive Rookie of the Year. Reason, Julius Peppers. He will be able to get one on one blocking due to the attention given to Peppers. This should mean McClellin would get into the double digits for sacks this year. I think New England has a couple of guys that will be in this conversation, but they should cancel each other out. Comeback Player of the Year is easy. Peyton Manning is coming off of neck surgery, did not play a down last year, and Manning will have a great season with the receivers he has. The Chicago Bears are going to be one of the best teams in the NFL next season. They are a team that could make a run for Super Bowl XLVI. Considering they were not a playoff team last year, had one of the ugliest offense ever witnessed, Lovie Smith will be a great candidate for Coach of the Year, and should win it.
