Cilic beats Nishikori in U.S. Open
Croatia’s Marin Cilic won his first major final on Monday, beating 10th-seeded Kei Nishikori of Japan 6-3, 6-3, 6-3…
I hope all you guys are clean shaven still and ladies playoff nails? Tonight is day 2 of the first rounds, so let’s recap the current on going series.
In the East The Rangers won the first game of their series with Ottawa, Boston is 1-0 against the Caps, and surprisingly the Flyers beat out the Pens in their first meeting. The Florida Panthers and the New Jersey Devils have their first meeting tonight at Florida. The Eastern conference games will continue tonight with a Pens & Flyers rematch again in Pittsburgh. The Caps/ Boston series and Rangers/Sens series will continue tomorrow afternoon.
In the West the first game has been played in each series. The La Kings have one upped the Vancouver Canucks and rematch tonight for the second game. The Red Wings will also get their chance at a rematch tonight after they lost to Nashville Predators. The San Jose Sharks took out the St. Louis Blues in their first match, but they’ll get the chance to come back tomorrow night, just like the Chicago Blackhawks who lost to the Coyotes, and will play their second game tomorrow night as well.
This is where things get interesting in hockey. No more five minute overtime periods, or shootouts. Which might be why I love the playoffs so much, since there is way more at stake. From now on an overtime will mean another twenty minutes of play until someone scores. Usually this happens in the first OT period, but there have been times where a victor wasn’t decided until the 3rd OT period. That is a lot of hockey, but it worth it as the race to the Cup continues.

If the Jacksonville Jaguars are going to outgun the Philadelphia Eagles’ fast-paced, high-powered offense, they’re…
Michael Sam didn’t make the St. Louis Rams, but former Indianapolis Colts Pat Angerer or Kelvin Sheppard might.
Japan’s Kei Nishikori just beat the No. 1 player in men’s tennis, now he has a shot at being No. 1 at the U.S. Open.
