Cardinals RB Ellington Injured, Questionable for MNF

Arizona Cardinals starting running back Andre Ellington practiced some Saturday but will be listed as questionable with a foot injury for Monday’s game against the San Diego Chargers.

Coach Bruce Arians said the running back will be a “game-time decision.”

Ellington got an MRI on Thursday, but was not kept out of practices late in the week — which would make it surprising if he didn’t play at all on Monday.

But fantasy football owners might want to go with a sure-fire starting running back in his place given the Cardinals open the season on Monday after most of the NFL slate has already been played over the weekend.

Ellington rushed for 652 yards on 118 carries last season (5.5-yard average) with three touchdowns.
